Women's HybridBike Size Guide

Women's hybrids differ to male/unisex hybrids. They tend to be shorter in length with narrower handlebars and smaller frame sizes. In some cases they’ll have a step through frame where the top tube drops down, meeting the seat tube much lower. In some cases a male/unisex hybrid may suit you better.

What size frame do I need if I’m in-between sizes?

It may be hard to choose the right frame size when you're between two sizes. To make the right decision, you need to consider your 'reach', which is how the bike feels when you're in the riding position. This reach is influenced by your upper body length (or 'trunk length' or 'sitting height'). If your trunk length is longer than average, then opt for the larger size of the two given. If it's shorter than average, then the smaller size is the better fit.

What are the benefits of a Hybrid Bike?

Hybrid bikes can be a great single solution for many riders. Featuring an upright riding position and strong frames and components, they are great for commuting and leisure riding. They can even be used for light touring.

The variety of hybrid bikes available is quite broad. Some look more like road bikes while others appear to be mountain bikes. You can tell the difference by looking at the size of the wheels and the forks. Hybrids with 700cc wheels and rigid forks work better on the road, while those with 26” and 27.5” wheels and suspension forks can handle some light off-roading.

Having both a mountain bike and a road bike might seem ideal, but it's worth considering the advantages of having a hybrid bike as well.

How are hybrid bikes measured?

Hybrid bikes are typically measured from the centre of the bottom bracket (BB) to the top of the seat tube. Some hybrid manufacturers may measure their bikes slightly differently, depending on the style of the bike. You'll also need to know your height and your inside leg measurement to find the right size. Hybrid bikes are usually sized in S, M, L and XL but some models may be sized in inches. Always check the manufacturer's measurements or speak to one of our experienced staff members.
